At some point, when the head is swollen and the brain is cloudy from sitting at the poker tables all day and night, one may need to do something extremely different. It is a great rush when one wins it big at the craps tables but there are plenty of other thrills in the city of Las Vegas. There are other ways to get into the game and get some movement. Get a different kind of adrenaline rush. One could head over for some roller coast action, there are a couple of hotels that feature some great rides. But what else is out there?

How about an amazing zip line adventure? You’re going to have to take a short drive off the strip to strap in for a thrilling zip ride off top of a desert mountain, down a canyon and land at the base. This is the first zip line put together in Nevada and it is fun. This is special adventure as you get the flight path of a bird diving from the top of a mountain to the ground. The only effort you put in is screaming, at first and then laughing with awe in the middle and end. Visitors are are strapped into a paragliding harness and then attached to cables. They push you off the mountain top and you zip glide down the cables in untraveled territory. You aren’t on a dirt trail, you are dangling from the cables above a beautiful canyon and moving at a good speed. You get to see great views of lakes, mountains and the city of Las Vegas in the distance. Truly amazing. Bootleg Canyon Flightlines is were the fun is at.

Another great adventure with major thrills is skydiving. Contact Vegas Extreme Skydiving for your, should do in a lifetime, parachute out of an airplane. This is one of the most freeing experiences you will ever have and all of the best Vegas hotels can get you there.

While the 2010 ING New York City Marathon is still months away, it’s not too early to consider getting in shape to be a runner for Team Central Park — one of the few ways in which to guarantee yourself a spot in the race. The marathon takes place over 26.2 miles and finishes at Central Park; throughout the year the famous New York park serves as a training ground for everyone including aspiring and top athletes or everyday enthusiasts. If you’re a runner and a tourist, go here to get a hotel room nearby and then walk on over to the parks 58 miles of pedestrian paths, plus 4.5 miles of a bridle path, and 6.5 miles of drives that wind throughout nearly 850 acres. Clearly, with the park as a base, New York is one of the best cities in the world in which to run.

In order to guarantee entry in the marathon, a runner must meet one of the following qualifications: 1) Be a member of the New York Road Runners at least since January 31 of last year, and have finished a minimum of nine NYRR-score qualifying races, as well as volunteer for an event during 2009; 2) Be an entrant in the 2009 marathon race but who cancelled before the race began; 3) Be a runner who has finished 15 or more of the New York City Marathons; 4) Be a runner who has applied but been turned down three years in a row (in this case, the years 2007, 2008, and 2009); or 5) Be a runner for Team Central Park.

Of course, if you choose the latter course, you’ll also be helping the Central Park Conservancy, which not only manages the park, but raises funds that support over 85 percent of the annual operating budget, which totals 27 million dollars. In fact, from 1980 on, the conservancy has put in over 530 million dollars, allowing the park to continue serving over 30 million annually. Over 700,000 runners have completed the New York City Marathon since 1970; perhaps this November, you’ll be able to say you’re a part of that number.

His tennis scores and matches have made him a favorite in his game. His serve is only a part of what makes him such a fantastic player to watch out for during the 2010 Australian Open. He has been known to serve pretty fast, at about 130-50 miles per hour. In fact, his serve has become something of a legend, especially his initial ones in the matches his plays. They are now known under the name of Roddick serves because he partially stops the serve in eliminating some of its motion. Seeing it is an amazing thing, especially for those who are tennis aficionados.

There are other attributes of his skill set that have helped him to hone down his style. It seems that no matter what kind of a career you go into, the really good people in your industry always seem to have a certain kind of style, and tennis is certainly no exception. After his first serve, Roddick goes all out and uses slices and angles and anything else he thinks will knock off his opponent. Other things about his serves making them unique are the spins, which are heavy, and a serve/volley combo that often confuses whoever his competitor is.

However, because people do know his style so well, they nitpick his lacking originality in moves and counter moves, which can be disappointing for the diehard fans. His latest coach is sure to make him his best just in time for the Open. He has helped to improve upon volleying and his backhand, which Roddick has been slowly improving during his professional status.

Perhaps what makes him such a great player too is his charm on and off the court. Such moves and demeanor are sure to make a tennis legend to go down in the books with Agassi and Born and others too.
